In order to play Pamela Anderson, Lily James had to don multiple wigs, a prosthetic forehead piece, fake eyebrows, fake teeth, fake breasts, and blue contact lenses. The process took around 4 hours.
To prepare for the role of Tommy Lee, Sebastian Stan had to get keratin treatment for his hair, dye it black, and wear brown contact lenses, fake tattoos, nose ring, nipple rings, and a prosthetic animatronic penis.
Tommy Lee approved of the series being made and discussed it with Sebastian Stan.
Pamela Anderson did not approve of the series nor was she involved in any way. Anderson did not publicly comment on the series, but several reports claimed she has no intention of ever watching it. Lily James said in a New York Times interview, "I hope that if she was ever to watch it, she would feel that the show was just so behind her."
Sebastian Stan said in an interview that halfway through filming he realized Lily is British and was surprised because he didn't hear Lily speak her own accent.
