The movie starts with Radhamani (Navya Nair), a ticket collector in a Kochi Government boat. She is the central character of the movie. In the story, we see Radhamani finds it difficult to meet her family’s needs as her husband (Saiju Kurup) is in the middle-east with thousands of job seekers with a broken arm. Her family consists of two school-going children with her husband and an elderly mother. Radhamani’s life gets harder when her daughter catches food poisoning and she needs to admit her to the hospital. However, as the hospital expenses are increasing, she decides to pledge her gold necklace and take out a loan. Later, Radhamani realizes that the necklace doesn’t have the amount of gold as it should be. On account of it, the gold loan is denied. From here, her life takes new turns. Whatever comes out layer by layer is quite shocking and interesting. What will happen next? How does she deal with the situation? Will fate decide in her favor? These questions will only be answered if you watch Oruthee.
