Teddy's room in the movie is Jack's room in real life.

In April's bedroom wall, there's a poster for for the film The Virgin Suicides (1999) which was directed by Gia Coppola's aunt Sofia Coppola.

The actors who played Teddy and Fred respectively each had a featured song in the soundtrack. T.M was written and performed by Jack Kilmer (Teddy) and Rock Star was written and performed by Nat Wolff (Fred) and his brother Alex.

Jaqueline De La Fontaine who plays April's mother, is director Gia Coppola's mother. Gia Coppola's cousin Bailey and great-aunt Talia Shire also appear in the film.
