Cinematographer Manmohan Singh makes his debut as director with this film. He was also to direct the Sunny Deol starer Ajay but the producer Sunil Darshan directed Ajay himself. Pehla Pehla Pyar was Tabbu's one of her earlier film.
Due to Prem being endlessly delayed, this film ended up being Tabu's debut film.
Juhi Chawla was signed for the film but later opted out.
Boney Kapoor kept asking the producer to delay his film. He wanted Tabu's debut film Prem to release first. Finally the producer Mr. Shaad got tired of waiting and decided to go ahead with the original release date. Boney had no choice as Prem was in the making 8 years.
The film was released theatrically in Canada.
