When the film was launched, it was a two hero film starring Govinda and Deepak Parashar. But Deepak Parashar claimed that Govinda went to the producer and wanted the film to be a solo hero film. So Deepak's character was scrapped from the film. A few days later the producer called Deepak back and requested he do the role which Shashi Kapoor was earlier to do. When Shashi was doing the film, the character was a older . The producer told Deepak that he would change the character to a younger one. Deepak agreed but later dropped out. Shashi Kapoor eventually did the film.
The film was unsold causing lots of delays. 35 lakhs was listed as the amount lost. Bharat Kapoor stated that Govinda promised to do his next movie free of charge to recover the losses of Raeszaada.
The film was complete in December 1989 however could not find distributors as Govinda had nearly 6 flops in a row. Once released in late 1991 it bombed miserably. This is the only film of Govinda to have a song sung by his mother shri nirmaladevi.
The singer of this song, Nirmala Devi, was the mother of the film's lead actor, Govinda. This was her first Hindi film song in almost two decades and she did not sing another one again. Prior to this, the last Hindi film song she had lent her voice to was "Bhor Aayi Gaya Andhiyara" ("Bawarchi", 1972).
Haayo Dank Maar Gayi..This song was not part of the film's audio release. It appears that it was originally recorded for a non-film album by Malkit Singh.
