Ram Setu is a Hindi action adventure drama film that tells the story of an atheist archaeologist turned believer who must do everything in his might to prove the true existence of the Ram Setu before evil forces destroy one of the entities of India's culture. The movie's direction and cinematography are subpar, as the director fails to impress audiences with an unsatisfying and unrealistic experience throughout. Akshay Kumar fails to show the story of a historian turned believer in a good manner, as the plot is rather predictable and boring. Further, the themes of adventure and religious belief are present throughout the movie, as it tries to show how an atheist is convinced after seeing overwhelming evidence of cultural evidence. Overall, Ram Setu is a Bollywood film that fails to take off and keeps you going through a boring and unoriginal story throughout its runtime.
The official announcement of the film was on 14 November 2020 coinciding with Diwali.
