IMDbRavening starts off like any other boy-meets-girl tale. PhD candidate Sumon (Arghadeep Baruah) makes friends with married local doctor Nirmali (Lima Das), who has a pre-teen kid. As part of her studies on meat consumption in northeast India, Sumon introduces her to a variety of meats, particularly those that are taboo, such rabbit, catfish with colocasia, and bat. Dining out becomes essential to this special connection. Since Nirmali is already married and Sumon has just started college, their relationship isn't particularly distinguished by love at first. He even goggles "platonic love" at one point. There is no disputing that Aamis closes with a strong, hard-hitting sequence, but contrary to what the movie indicates, it is not a tribute to the freeing qualities of love but rather to how it can be a smokescreen and play cruel games on your mind. Therefore, that scenario is more horrifying than it is sad. And the reason for that is that love is insufficient on its own.

"Sumon: The definition of normal isn't universal. The creatures we consider disgusting, people savour them in different parts of the world. What is normal for us might be abnormal for others."
"Nirmali: Meat is not the problem, gluttony is."
