At least two cars were used for this picture - one for medium and long shots, and one that had holes drilled in it for camera mounts for close-ups. It was the camera-mount car that was discovered in Kentucky.
Richard Compton, who co-wrote and directed Macon County Line (1974) was hired as the director and sole screenwriter.
Although Max Baer Jr., who produced and co-wrote Macon County Line (1974), was not involved with this follow-up, he retained profit participation.
