TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Although copyright dated 1956 and passed by the British Board of Film Censors with a "U" certificate on 4 December 1956, United Artists did not get round to showing it to the London press until 9 September 1957 with one 10:30 screening at the UA Own Theatre in Wardour Street. For the public distribution UA decided on a "floating" arrangement rather than a general release to every cinema, but the film got plenty of showings.

Popular Dialogues

"Maj. Seth Bradner: Within the walls of this fort is a company of the Army of the United States. The States are no longer united. Each of you has chosen his own loyalty. Perhaps there are some of you who have yet to make that decision. Whichever way you choose, you will for the present time, continue to exist together. In anger, if necessary with hatred, but within this fort you will remain a company of soldiers. That order doesn't come from me or from Washington. That order comes from Red Cloud and his warriors."

"Maj. Seth Bradner: There you have it... / the bitterest choice of all. / Whether to break your oath, / or your heart..."
