TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Jet Li came up with the idea to have Aaliyah fight the lady on the motorcyle during the chase scene.

Film acting debut of singer Aaliyah

Four years before being cast in this film, Aaliyah was considered for the role of Juliet in Romeo + Juliet (1996) opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. She turned down the role feeling it wasn't the right time for her to break into acting.

Joel Silver gave Jet Li the leading role in this film for his praised performance in Lethal Weapon 4 (1998).

When Trish dumped Maurice at the record store and hides in the cab, he comes out and yells, "Trish! I'm gonna find your Aaliyah-lookin' ass!" "Trish" was portrayed by Aaliyah.

Popular Dialogues

"Maurice: Hey Trish! I'm gonna find your Aaliyah looking ass!"

"Han Sing: I can't hit a girl. Trish: Look, I don't know how it is in China, but in America, if a girl is kicking your ass, you do not have to be a gentleman."
