This is the first animated Scooby Doo featuring Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy in the live action Scooby-Doo (2002) & Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed (2004) along with assorted video games based on the duology. As of 2021, Lillard is still the official voice of Shaggy Rogers.
This is the last voice acting role for veteran voice actor John Stephenson who passed away on May 15, 2015.
Mindy Cohn, Velma's then-regular voice, and Danica McKellar who plays her sister Madelyn, were teen stars in 80s sitcoms - Cohn as Natalie Green in The Facts of Life (1979) and McKellar as Winnie Cooper in The Wonder Years (1988).
This was also the last Scooby-Doo DVD to be released in Standard Version.
