Cathy Silvers, who plays Lt. Monday, is the daughter of Phil Silvers, who was the original Sgt. Bilko on TV.
Pamela Adlon plays 'Rocky' Barbella and 'John Ortiz' plays Luis Clemente. In real life, Adlon has a daughter named Rocky and Ortiz has a son named Clemente. While working together on Rake (2014), they realized they had given their children the same name as their characters.
If you listen closely to the vehicles on base, they either have a hard time starting or continue to sputter after stopped. A great subtle gag through out the film.
The big gold stripes on Bilko's black dress uniform (worn during the wedding day scenes) are services stripes. Each one equals 3 years of service, he has 9 on each arm, so this indicates he's been in the U.S. Army for at least 27 years.
Bilko's group (Company B) switches the sign on their barracks with the sign on Company A's barracks. One of the names on Company B's sign is Cpt. Hiken. Nat Hiken was the creator of the original The Phil Silvers Show (1955), on which this movie is based.
"Wally: Speaking of Doberman, can I please have another roommate? Bilko: Why, what's wrong with Doberman? Wally: He wet his bed! Bilko: Oh, well, once in a while... Wally: No, he did it from across the room."
"Bilko: All I ever wanted was an honest week's pay for an honest day's work."
