Srikanto, a TV series based on Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay's classic novel, is a mixed bag. The past sequences, featuring the childhood pranks and crushes of the titular character Srikanto and his love interest Rajlokkhi, are sweet and relatable. However, the present-day sequences feel directionless and haphazard, and the characters are not very likable or believable. The mystery surrounding Rajlokkhi's present seems unnecessary, and the interactions between Srikanto and Piyali feel stale and lack chemistry. The acting is average, and the dialogue is often atrocious. While the music is an important part of the show, it doesn't quite hit the mark. Srikanto tries to ride high on the beauty of its source material but falls short. It's a bit boring and fails to create a passionate connection between the characters and the audience. While there are some sweet moments, they are not consistent enough to make the series worth watching. Sohini Sarkar's acting is the only bright spot, but even that can't save the show from being a disappointment.
