TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

A pink astromech unit with a female personality KT-10 is introduced in the Great Heep's harem. Though referred to as an R2 unit in the special, she was given a name in the 1992 book George Lucas: The Creative Impulse. This is not the same droid as R2-KT, created in 2005 for Katie Johnson, the daughter of the 501st Legion costuming group's founder.

This prime time special was originally scheduled to be broadcast on December 13, 1985, less than a month after the last regular episode was broadcast, but it was delayed to the following summer. It finally aired more than six months later on June 7, 1986 and garnered the week's lowest ratings. In fact it was the next-to-lowest rated special of the season.

According to the 2005 book "The Cinema of George Lucas" by Marcus Hearn, this was Anthony Daniels's favorite installment of Droids. He is quoted to have said: "Ben Burtt has a particular affection for me as C-3PO and a natural empathy toward R2-D2."

Admiral Screed later appears in several Star Wars Expanded Universe stories and games.

According to the 2006 edition of the Star Wars Essential Guide to Droids, the Great Heep hails from a race of alien robots known as the Abominor.

Popular Dialogues

"C-3PO: There it is, Artoo. Our new home. The peaceful planet of Biitu. Remember, if you behave yourself, I'll put in a good word for you. Maybe he'll give you a job as well."

"Droid bartender: Welcome to the Biitu Droid harem. Our master, the Great Heep, wants you R2 units to relax and enjoy yourselves."
