"Tang" is a heartwarming Japanese drama that explores the themes of loneliness, redemption, and the power of human connection. The story follows Ken Kasugai, a man who has lost everything due to his addiction to gaming, including his wife and job. However, his life takes an unexpected turn when he encounters Tang, a lost child robot who needs his help. As Ken takes care of Tang and helps him find his way back home, he begins to rediscover the joy and purpose of life. Through his interactions with Tang and other people he meets along the way, Ken learns to confront his past mistakes, confront his addiction, and find a new sense of hope and meaning. The performances in "Tang" are outstanding, particularly Kazunari Ninomiya's portrayal of Ken, who is both vulnerable and sympathetic. The chemistry between Ken and Tang is also heartwarming, providing a touching portrayal of the relationship between humans and robots. Overall, "Tang" is a beautifully crafted drama that offers a poignant and uplifting message about the importance of human connection and second chances.
As well as playing the lead role of Ken, Ninomiya Kazunari also plays the role of the robot Tang and gives Tang his voice. It was Ninomiya himself who suggested to the producers that he play the role of Tang because Tang becomes a mirror of the character Ken's actions in this unique buddy movie.
