Arun Vijay performed the stunts himself. He got injured during the shoot of the film's climactic fight sequence when an iron rod being held by Vamsi Krishna slipped and hit the former's shoulders. As a result, doctors advised Vijay complete rest due to a slight shoulder dislocation.
Magizh Thirumeni discussed the film's title with Gautham Vasudev Menon while working with him as an assistant on Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu (2006). Gautham liked the title but somehow couldn't use it. Eventually, the title stayed with Thirumeni.
Arun Vijay developed six packs specially for this film.
Prachi Desai was initially roped in to play the female lead , but later she denied the offer and the film was shelved for almost 5 months.
Magizh Thirumeni conceived of the film when he was suffering from viral fever. It took him 7 years to develop the film's story and characters.
