Antonio Banderas did not return as the voice of Puss.
Composer and songwriter Shawn Patterson adapted an eighteenth century British naval song, "Spanish Ladies," as a secondary theme for Puss. The song occasionally plays when Puss longs for adventure outside of his temporary home of San Lorenzo.
John Leguizamo (Jack Sprat) and Experienced Voice Actor Jim Cummings (Julio) have previously appeared in Titan A.E. (2000) as Gune and Chowquin. Coincidentally John Leguizamo (Jack Sprat) and Alan Tudyk (Uli) have also appeared in 20th Century Fox's Ice Age franchise as Sid the Sloth, Lenny and Dab in the original film, Cholly the Chalicotherium in the second film, and Milton the Sloth in the fourth film.
