This is actually Irwin Allen's second time working with Vincent Price and Peter Lorre, both of whom played in the 1957 movie The Story of Mankind.
At about the 1:08 min mark in the movie Victor Mature brings up Hannibal and his march over the Alps with elephants. Victor Mature would later play Hannibal in the movie of that name, released in 1959 the same year as this one.
When Peter Lorre catches the banker in the cage, he says, "Slowly, slowly catchee monkey," quoting a line he said as Mr. Moto in The Mysterious Mr. Moto (1938).
