The Boogeyman Review

The terrifying horror book "The Boogeyman" will keep you awake at night and give you paranoia. The protagonists of the tale are a family who are plagued by the Boogeyman, an evil spirit. The author establishes a sense of dread and anxiety on the opening page that grows more intense with each chapter. Each of the expertly created characters is battling their own insecurities and weaknesses. As the Boogeyman's presence grows ominous and unrelenting, the reader is sucked into their world and experiences their horror and agony. Aesthetic and menacing, the author's writing style is filled with rich details that bring the terrifying situations to life. The reader is kept on the edge of their seat and the tension is kept tense by the effective pace. The narrative is unpredictable, keeping you on the edge of your seat the entire time. Not for the weak of heart, "The Boogeyman" The depths of terror and the vulnerability of the human psyche are both explored.

TRIVIA

Trivia

Was originally meant to be released straight-to-streaming on Hulu, but the strong reception from test screenings prompted 20th Century Studios to instead give it a wide theatrical release.

Boogeyman is the film adaptation of a short story, written by Stephen King, that was originally featured in a March 1973 issue of Cavalier magazine & later in Night Shift, a collection of short stories all written by King.

In January of 2022, it was announced that Sophie Thatcher & Chris Messina have signed on to star.

Some scenes were so intense that they had to be changed after test audiences reactions. The screaming was so loud and extended that critical dialog was being missed. The editors put in some extra footage before the dialog so audiences didn't lose the plot.
