TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Throughout the movie the Olympics are only implied. The word "Olympics" and the Olympic symbol are not actually in the film due to strict control by the Olympic Committee.

Melissa Rauch used a body double for the nude sex scene, while Sebastian Stan did the scene himself. Rauch wrote the scene because she felt it would be funny, but refused to be nude herself. She said in an interview "Why should I show my boobs and ass when we can pay some unknown to do it?"

Sebastian Stan did all but two of his own stunts in the movie.

Real-life Olympic gymnast and medalist, Dominique Moceanu, has a cameo is the film. While she is not a native Ohioan, Moceanu has lived in Northeast Ohio much of her adult life and currently resides in the Cleveland area. The film is set in Amherst, which is a suburb of Cleveland.

All of the eatery locations in the film are real places (Hastee Tastee, Quarry Cafe, Midway Mall food court). And while Hope's house is still standing (and remaining in its unique red, white and blue paint) on the small street of Brandt Ave., the building used for Pavleck's gym (once a pizza parlor) was demolished in 2016.

Popular Dialogues

"Lance: Hey, water boy, I can't drink that bottle of piss you gave me. Here's five bucks. Why don't you get me a Fiji, or something pH balanced? And if you're lucky, I'll let you taste my nuts. Hope's tasted my nuts before, right? Hope: Do not get that water, Twitchy. Lance: Are you winking at me? Ben: No. Lance: What, are we flirting right now? What's happening? Hope: Hey! Don't make fun of people with deformity problems. Ben: I'm actually not deformed. But it's not a problem. I'll go get the water, pH balanced, for men."

"Lance: Thank's Maggie. I think I've seen enough. Maggie: I think my camel toe's a little off. Lance: Excuse me? Hope: She's a bit of a perv."
