IMDbThe contract could not manage to gain positive reviews from the fans and critics but was soon enough stated as an average film. Overall, the acting is excellent, but the script is terrible and ruins the film. Fans did not enjoy this film even though the cast is exceptionally amazing, but they failed to deliver a good movie. It is often categorized as a predictable, artificial, and occasionally ridiculous film for its underdeveloped plot and storyline. The way the movie proceeds with its plot and character development is criticized. It is often compared to a slow-moving sludge. It proceeded slowly enough from the start under the veil of implementing some character development. Although the film also managed to gain a few positive points for its incredible selection of location and the pairing of the cast members. Fans were keeping high hopes for Cusack and Freeman, but unlikely things cannot always go as expected.
Budget 25,000,000 USD

Bruce Beresford wrote extensively about this film in his recent memoir, "Josh Hartnett Definitely Wants To Do This". The production was apparently deeply troubled, and Beresford was well aware that the script didn't make sense. The producers closed the shoot down after fifty days, and Beresford was forced to use his own money to complete the film.
Distributed as a straight-to-DVD release in the U.S. and most other markets.
According to Bruce Beresford in a book he wrote, Steven Seagal asked for a supporting role, but was declined.
