TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

When Jesse meets Leonard at his house, he is wearing a t-shirt that says "Find what you love and let it kill you". This quote is from Charles Bukowski's memoirs: "My dear, Find what you love and let it kill you. Let it drain from you your all. Let it cling onto your back and weigh you down into eventual nothingness. Let it kill you, and let it devour your remains. For all things will kill you, both slowly and fastly, but it's much better to be killed by a lover. Falsely yours, Henry Charles Bukowski"

When Jesse Hellman is parking near the art gallery, it is shown that the place is called "Belial." "Belial," in the Bible, is a demon of seduction, a creature that corrupts people and makes them go mad or behave badly towards others.

From the Hebrew 'Bliol', meaning Wicked One, in demonology Belial is one of Satan's most venerable demons. In fact, before the New Testament firmly established Satan as the leader of the forces of evil, Belial was the one in charge. In the Old Testament the word had the meaning of worthlessness or wickedness, but it later came to be used as a proper noun for the Devil or Satan.

Metallica's "For Whom the Bell Tolls" is the track that kicks off the end credits, and Sean Byrne can't thank the band enough. They watched and enjoyed an early cut of the film ("I was shitting myself.") and then offered the song at a very reasonable rate. "Once you have The Beatles of metal on your side all the other bands joined in and allowed us to get a really great soundtrack." he stated.

The film was introduced to a live audience by lead actor Ethan Embry at Horrorhound Cincinnati, Ohio on March 18th, 2017. Ethan stated this film was more in line with his own tastes and that is was "a family movie" in regard to the focus on family bonds.

Popular Dialogues

"Preacher: We've come to the place where we joke about the idea of the devil. With the horns, and the tail and all that. But that is Satan's lie to distract us from the reality of who he is. He's no mask in a Halloween store, he's not what you see in the movies. He is an active, violent, anti-God personal reality. And as much as we refuse to admit it, he lives through us. He uses us to carry out his unspeakable deeds. For we are his pawns, we are his demons on Earth. We satiate his hunger. If you have the slightest bit of greed in your heart, he will turn it into an avalanch. He will slither into your soul."

"Zooey Hellman: [about a painting] That's the thing for the bank? Jesse Hellman: Yeah. Yeah, that's the comission. Zooey Hellman: Butterflies? *So* not metal."
