TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The eleventh of sixteen movies for the suave detective nicknamed "The Falcon" released from 1941 to 1949 and the 8th of 10 starring Tom Conway in the title role.

Actually there were 16 'Falcon' movies. George Sanders starred in the first 3 solo as The Falcon Guy Lawrence. Then real life brother Tom Conway co-starred with Sanders in the 4th The Falcon's Brother (1942) as his brother Tom Lawrence, thus giving Sanders an out whilst continuing the series. Conway took over the role and followed this one up with 9 more. Then there was the three final, independently produced films with John Calvert as The Falcon.

The ship used by the bad guys at the end of the film is the same one seen as a huge prop on a soundstage in The Falcon in Hollywood (1944).

Edward Brophy (who plays the Falcon's sidekick "Goldie" Locke) was one of Hollywood's busiest character actors in the 1940s, but may be best remembered as the voice of Timothy Mouse, the best friend and mentor to the big-eared title character in Walt Disney's original animated version of Dumbo (1941).

Robert Armstrong (Mr. DeForrest) should be familiar to classic film fans - he was adventurous movie-maker Carl Denham (who financed the excursion to Skull Island to capture the giant ape) in both the original King Kong (1933) and its almost immediately made sequel, Son of Kong (1933).

Popular Dialogues

"Goldie Locke: [On seeing beautiful woman] If she can't help me with my income tax, nobody can."

"Goldie Locke: Annie, how old are you? Annie Marshall: I'll be 18 eleven years from next August."
