Sarah Michelle Gellar turned down the role of Brittany Foster.
Michele Waitman, Sarah Michelle Gellar's stunt double from Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), performed the stunts for the role Gellar was offered but turned down.
Susan Ward sprained her left ankle in the scene where she rushes inside the maintenance room beside the swimming pool after a victim. The scene was put together from two different locations with the actress actually rushing inside a small storage shed, which was spliced with the underground maintenance area which was in a another location. When Ward ran into the room, her heel got snagged on a rubber mat inside the door, twisting her ankle. Some of her scenes afterward around the swimming pool do not show her walking or only standing.
The film was edited from an "R" to a "PG-13", deleting most of the nude scenes and trimming the strong language, as well as the sex and violence scenes.
They were plans to do a sequel which never materialized.
"[after first seeing the rich kids] Adrien Williams: Maybe in my next life, huh? Joanne: That's not a life. It's a J. Crew catalogue."
"Brittany Foster: Look... you don't get it do you, Adrian? I showed you how things worked around here because I sympathized with you, being the outsider. But just remember this, I brought you in... and if you decide to fuck with me I can just a easily throw you out! Adrien Williams: [unfazed] Am I supposed to be scared now? Brittany Foster: [quietly to herself] I would be."
