The school scenes were were filmed on location at St. John Bosco High School in in the Los Angeles suburb of Bellflower in California, USA.

The movie is a modern variation of the The Invisible Man (1933). The main movie poster was reflective of this type of ''invisible man'' movie.

The movie's title evoke the earlier science-fiction picture The Invisible Boy (1957) from about thirty years earlier even though the two films are different and unrelated.
