TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

First top-billed lead role in a major motion picture for actress Jodie Foster.

Alexis Smith bemoaned the fact that she "had only two scenes. They used to call these 'small roles,' now they say 'cameos.'" Smith was impressed with Jodie Foster after filming the scene where Mrs. Hallet slaps Rynn across her face. "She told me, 'Hit me hard. It's OK.' She's very professional."

One of five films that actress Jodie Foster starred in during the year 1976, to date, still Foster's most prolific year. The other movies were: Bugsy Malone (1976), Freaky Friday (1976), Taxi Driver (1976) and Echoes of a Summer (1976).

A significant role for Mort Shuman, who played Miglioriti. He is best known as half of the celebrated songwriting team with Doc Pomus. Their million seller hit list includes: "Teenager In Love," "Save The Last Dance For Me", "This Magic Moment" and "Viva Las Vegas."

The age of the character that Jodie Foster played was thirteen. Foster basically played the same age she was in real life. Foster actually celebrated her 13th birthday during principal photography and turned that age about five days into the shoot.

Popular Dialogues

"Rynn Jacobs: How old do you have to be before people start treating you like a person?"

"Mario Podesta: But what about school? Rynn Jacobs: School is having people tell you what life is and never finding out by yourself."
