TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

The film's title comes from Dickie Moltisanti's family's name which when translated from Italian to English means "many saints".

Ray Liotta was the top choice to play Tony Soprano in The Sopranos but turned it down because he did not want to commit to a television series. The role went to the late James Gandolfini.

Michael Gandolfini had never watched The Sopranos (1999) prior to being cast in the role of as the young Tony Soprano.

Alessandro Nivola didn't realize that he was playing the lead role until filming had begun. He was only given portions of the script beforehand.

Michael Gandolfini had to redo many takes as his portrayal was sometimes TOO close to his father's interpretation of the character, while his was intended to be still a young teenager and not yet the feared adult gangster.

Popular Dialogues

"Christopher Moltisanti: [Final lines] That's the guy, my uncle Tony. The guy I went to hell for."

"Richard 'Dickie' Moltisanti: [to Tony] Look, you want to be a civilian, I appreciate that. I'm all for it. But pay attention to me for once, okay? You take the speakers, right? At the same time, you promise yourself these speakers are it. Now, you say to yourself, "This is the last time I'm ever gonna steal something." And you stick to it. It's that simple."
