TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Jerry Cantrell dressed up as Nona Weisbaum, was introduced to Layne Staley as if he was the mother of a producer. Staley believed it and freaked out when he found out that Nona was actually Cantrell after he smiled.

The film was originally intended to be a video press kit and evolved into a Spinal Tap-style mockumentary showing how the band members spend their free time when they weren't being Rock stars. The record label didn't like the film at first, but after it became a cult thing they decided to sell the VHS.

During the driving scenes in the convertible, the sound man was hidden in the trunk of the car with his recording equipment. After a particularly long film take, the director yelled cut, and then checked on sound - but there was no answer from the sound man. The driver stopped the car and opened the trunk to discover that the sound man had passed out from the fumes. He recovered, and filming continued.

Jerry Cantrell accidentally yanked an earring out of Sean Kinney's gourd while shooting the car scene. Cantrell almost broke his neck on the same maneuver just after he pulled Kinney into the car.

Director Rocky Schenck talked with each band member about how they wanted to be portrayed in the film.

Popular Dialogues

"Nona Weisbaum: Seattle is known for the grunge musicians. Lots of hair, lots of sweat. That word, "grunge" just turns me on, something fierce."

"Nona Weisbaum: We're gonna drive around and see if we can find a Vedder or a Staley, or any, any Seattle rock star. We'll even take drummers."
