This short film establishes Han (Sung Kang) as being a friend of Dom (Vin Diesel), which is how he came to be part of the 'family'. It is also technically the first chronological appearance of Han in the series, followed by Fast & Furious (2009), Fast Five (2011), Fast & Furious 6 (2013), Furious 7 (2015), The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift (2006) and F9: The Fast Saga (2021). Unless one counts Better Luck Tomorrow (2002), which is not officially part of the Fast & Furious series, but does feature Kang as Han.
The character of Elvis, played by Juan Fernández, does not appear in any of the feature length Fast & Furious films, despite fans looking for more from Fernandez.
