TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Charles A. Lindbergh wanted Anthony Perkins to play him in the movie.

The movie was a box office disappointment when originally released.

Producer Jack L. Warner was strongly opposed to the casting of James Stewart, which he believed caused the film to flop on its release in 1957. Warner felt a young and less well-known actor was needed to play Lindbergh.

James Stewart, who was portraying Charles A. Lindbergh at the age of 25, was 47 when the film was made.

Jack L. Warner said at the time that this was "the most disastrous failure we ever had."

Popular Dialogues

Mirror Girl: No. I'm from Philadelphia. Charles Lindbergh: You came all the way from Philadelphia? Mirror Girl: I had to. You needed my mirror."

"Charles Lindbergh: [after politely trying to smoke a cigar given to him by an investment banker] The idea of committing suicide never crossed my mind except when I took this cigar."
