The movie's budget was reportedly US $2.5 million and was financed from four private sector investors according to an article published in the 11th April 1984 edition of 'The Los Angeles Times' newspaper. They were: (1) A Baltimore Subaru Car Dealership Owner in Maryland (2) A Houston Banker in Texas (3) A Detroit Real Estate Agent in Michigan and (4) A Los Angeles Film Exhibitor in California.
The movie was a box-office flop and commercial failure upon theatrical release and went straight to video in quite a number of markets and territories.
The film's closing credits state that the "producers gratefully acknowledge the help of citizens of Great Falls and Cascade, Montana".
"Andy Jansen: Days are years and years are days when it comes to sorrow. There ain't no such thing as time. It's the way it is."
"George Jansen: I think what yer askin' is will I give you a shotgun. Arnold Hillerman: You got a few. George Jansen: Yeah. But I've had them guns a long time. And if I give one away I wouldn't see it no more. And I wouldn't see the fellow I give it to, either. Now it might be I can get along without one of my shotguns, but I don't want to loose a grandson. I wouldn't have none left... Say, you ever thought about being a millionaire. Arnold Hillerman: No. George Jansen: You might give that some thought."
