TRIVIA

Trivia

In its first two months of release, the DVD sales of the film brought in a revenue of $50 million.

When Tinker Bell is about to launch the balloon by sprinkling it with pixie dust, she takes a handful of dust from her pouch and weighs it in her hand before returning a portion to the bag. Her movements look just like those of Indiana Jones in the opening sequence of Indiana Jones and the Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981) when he weighs out the sand from the bag he plans to use to replace the idol on the pedestal.

The film was originally slated for a direct-to-DVD release in the United States, but received a one-week theatrical run in Los Angeles, CA in order to qualify for the 2010 Oscars.

Composer Joel McNeely recorded his score with an 82 piece ensemble of the Hollywood Studio Symphony and Celtic violinist Mairead Nesbitt.

The film premiered at the UN on October 25 2009. Kiyotaka Akasaka, Under Secretary General for Communications and Public Information, named Tinker Bell the "honorary Ambassador of Green" to help promote environmental awareness among young children.
