"To Grandmother's House We Go" was written especially for the then-6-year-old Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen in 1992 so they could appear onscreen together and show the audience what they could do when acting opposite each other. The girls were already well-known and very popular for playing "Michelle" on the "Full House" sitcom, but since they shared that role, they appeared only one at a time and had never had the chance to act together except for brief dream-sequences on the show.
