Rotten TomatoesYou People is the superb casting of Jonah Hill and Eddie Murphy in a buddy comedy after long. But the movie entirely wastes the potential through an unfunny script and caricatures that lack any sort of depth. With comedic talents in the lead cast, this movie could have been so much more than just a dry and awkward rom-com that does not know where its essence really lies. It clings on to a lot of low hanging fruit when it comes to the jokes, which make the plot as cliched as they come. A new trend in rom-coms today is the self awareness and political correctness, which does not work in favour of this film at all. That said, it is a good slapstick comedy. If you are someone who likes to leave their brains at home and just indulge in mindless comedy, this one will not disappoint you.
