The last film actor Asrani had directed.
The film was long in the making.
The only film to star Rekha and Saif.
Amrita Singh had blasted Rekha in the media when Rekha's husband Mukesh passed away. Amrita passed crude remarks about Rekha's character saying she owed her mother money and that Rekha acted 24 hours a day and was fake . Amrita went on to bash Rekha's character stating she was responsible for Mukesh's death. When Saif signed Udaan, he was was not sure how Rekha would behave with him . On the first day's shoot, Rekha did not let any personal differences come between her and Saif. She was friendly and put Saif at ease. Saif in return felt Amrita must have been angry about allot of other issues in the past.
The film had a theatrical release in Canada.
