At the conclusion of the trial depicted in this film, Francisco Fuster Escolana was sentenced to six life terms plus 165 years in Florida state prison. As of 2020, he is still alive and imprisoned, and is technically eligible for parole in 2134. He has made many appeals and requests for clemency since his sentencing, but all have been unsuccessful.

Frank Fuster, since his sentencing in 1985, had been attacked 5 times while incarcerated, most recently in 2018. The most serious attack was when a fellow prisoner stabbed Fuster in the neck after a network rebroadcast of this movie.

Joseph Mazello's real-life brother plays his brother in the film.

The Country Walk case depicted in this movie was the first mass case of child sexual abuse in daycare to result in conviction. The entire process from arrest to conviction took 15 months.

The movie is based on the nonfiction book "Unspeakable Acts", police reports, court documents, interviews, and news reports. The names of the of the children and the parents in the movie were changed out of respect to the victims.
