In the plot, Madison Walker locks herself in her apartment for 30 days without food or contact with anyone to attempt to cure herself of multiple personalities. For research, the writer/director Katherine Brooks did the same thing before writing the script.
Tha name of the main character, Madison, wasn't used as a girl's name until the movie Splash (1984) came out, when it subsequently became one of the most popular baby names in the USA.
