Welcome to Chippendales is the story of Indian immigrant Somen Banerjee who founds a male revue popular across the world. It is a missed opportunity as the overall presentation and cinematography of the journey isn't too convincing. It does not justify the actual rise of the male revue and shows us just a diluted and rushed version of it. That said, the actors are top notch in their portrayals of Banerjee and the people who made him. The entire look of the series is great and makes it worthy of an aesthetic true crime story. Across eight episodes, the story peels but ends up being too lacklustre to justify itself over this extensive of a runtime. One interesting aspect of the series is the way it touches upon the aspect of toxic masculinity and how it led to the situation created by Banerjee is something that is fascinating to watch.
