TRIVIA AND POPULAR DIALOGUES

Trivia

Filming for series 8 Part 1 (Part A) and 2 (Part B) went into production in late October 2019 and wrapped filming early September 2020, with both series filmed back-to-back. Production finished filming in early September after a break in production due to the COVID-19 pandemic. When filming wrapped on 4th September available members of the cast and crew received gifts which included a placard for the cast's four actors who had been there on set since day one Kate Atkinson (Vera Bennett), Jacquie Brennan (Linda Miles), Robbie Magasiva (Will Jackson) and Katrina Milosevic (Boomer Jenkins) known as the 'OG Four' and the '100 Club', the crew originals included Peter Sidell, Kate Saunders, Adrian Dalton, Paris Smith, Lana Williams, Simon Hawkins, Michael Melis, Margot McCarthy and series producers Penny Win and Jo Porter.

According to the cast, when they first started getting fan mail during season 1 a lot of mail came from ex-corrections officers thanking them for getting officer life right when the officers were on screen. The series also had a former corrections officer serving as a series consultant who also served as an extra for the first three seasons often providing guidance for the actors who were playing guards..

As research, the principal cast and production team toured the Dame Phyllis Frost Correctional Centre in Deer Park, Victoria, meeting inmates and staff, with cast also meeting gangland figure Judy Moran of the Moran Crime Family who was a figurehead in the Melbourne Gangland War.

Wentworth is Foxtel Australia's longest running one hour drama series, and when the series finishes its run it will be the longest running one hour drama in Foxtel AU's history and Australian TV history.

Many of the cast of the show have claimed that the cast is like a "big family" and Kate Atkinson alluded to this during the 2018 Logies by saying 'We are a family on this show, as we spend every moment together under the big roof of the big house.'. Further alluding to this were cast members Jacquie Brennan and Bernard Curry during a 2016 Q and A, where they both said everyone is very professional, and everyone speaks highly of each other and they can share a joke and laugh on set during filming as things can get pretty heavy on set with the content the series is producing, Curry had also said in an interview in 2020 that members of the cast are there for each other and will not allow anyone to fail. The cast often organise drinks and get together's when they are not filming.

[sighs] Liz Birdsworth: Yeah, I know that feeling love."

"Kaz Proctor: Why did Jackson lose the deputy governorship? Linda Miles: Big night. Positive piss test. Kaz Proctor: Is that all? Linda Miles: [Sarcastically] No, he's an axe murderer. Kaz Proctor: [Fake laugh] ha, ha."
