Sridevi was going to star in this movie, something which made Nana Patekar very happy and he told everybody how ecstatic he was to work with his favorite actress. Unfortunately, Sridevi backed out of the role, not feeling comfortable doing the role of a prostitute. Previously she had played a prostitute in "Bhagwan Dada".
Nana Patekar and 'Sridevi' were teamed for the first time. After 'Sridevi' opted out of the film, Manisha Koirala was signed for the role.
Nana, Jackie and Manisha acted again after Agnisakshi.
The music of the film was on Amitabh Bachchan's music label Big B. When ABCL went bankrupt, the music rights were bought by T Series.
Ashwini Bhave replaced Deepti Bhatnagar.
