Based on novel "Boys are Dogs" by Leslie Margolis.
This is Zendaya's 2nd Disney Channel Original Movie. The first one being Frenemies (2012).
Marks the only time where Zendaya during her days as a Disney Network star would star in something that didn't air during the same time as a live action series that she'd been a part of, with Zapped (2014) having premiered after the final episode of Shake It Up (2010) and before the first episode of K.C. Undercover (2015).
Co-star Spencer Boldman is actually a childhood friend of Zendaya.
This garnered 5.7 million viewers when it premiered on the Disney Channel in 2014.
"Taylor Dean: I don't like to laugh out loud because I believe it's a sign of weakness; but, just so you know, in my head I am laughing right now. I'm laughing so hard, I'm literally throwing up in my own brain. Yuki: Total brain hurl."
"Jackson Kale: The club meets here instead of on campus. Less likelihood of meathead jocks sticking pawns up their noses."
