A GTA 6 scam has been circulating online, using fake websites and emails to promise early access to the game before its official release. The site claims that players can join a pre-release beta test, but the offer is fraudulent and appears designed to steal personal data, login details and in some cases, bank information. Let’s look at it in a bit more detail below.

Like all scams do, this one plays on the huge interest around Grand Theft Auto 6, which is due to launch on 19 November. Perpetrators have used polished fake pages and AI-generated material to make the offers look convincing, while one fake site even claimed, “We need you to help us build Vice City.” Some versions asked users to enter names, addresses, dates of birth or gaming account logins, while others pushed downloads that could install malware on a PC.
A fraud usually relies on excitement and urgency, and such was the case here too. Fans who have waited years for GTA 6 may see an early access email and assume Rockstar has picked them for a special test group, especially when the message looks official and well-made. That is also what makes the scam dangerous, because one careless click can expose both gaming accounts and personal financial details.
A report by The Guardian details the exact process of how it operates and the scam seems centred on the Elamigoszone website. The good news is that the website behind the scam now appears to have been taken down. But it is still a useful warning, because it shows how easily someone can exploit major game launches before the official pre-order and release process begins.
Rockstar has not announced any public beta testing programme for GTA 6, and while there likely is one, it would involve a more rigourous admission process. So players should treat any early access offers they come across with caution. The only safe updates will come through Rockstar itself or official shopfronts such as the PlayStation Store and Xbox Marketplace.
The real pre-order and launch details will arrive through normal official channels, not random emails. For now, players should ignore unsolicited invites, avoid suspicious downloads and double-check any message that claims to offer beta access. GTA 6 pre-orders will begin June 25, 2026 and the game is set to release on November 19, 2026. If there are new developments, we’ll know once the pre-orders begin.
