Purchased this Oct 13 and here are my pros & cons based on my usage. Pros: - Good screen size - Sleek & Light (without keyboard attachment) - USB, SD/Micro SD slots - Double battery Cons: - Tab gets heated-up in the bottom left corner when playing games. Surprisingly, even games like Candy Crush causes this. - Custom charger with a bit bulky adapter. It is like a laptop charger and too awkward to carry. - Supports only Bluetooth/Wireless for connectivity. If you have UBS dongle(CDMA/3G), you would not be able to connect since all "Mobile Networks" configuration menus are removed. - Battery inside the keyboard attachment drains quickly. When not using, keyboard discharges about 20-25% over night. - Display is of a bit poor quality. My screen dims and brightens all by itself. More evident and annoying when reading a book. - No PC suite. Overall, it is really not worth the money with out any offers. With Diwali offer, I got following: 1. Phillips headphone from flipkart 2. 4000 worth HP accessories (Yet to be received) 3. 10% cash back from Standard Charted(Yet to be received) 4. Additional 2 years onsite warranty from HP(Yet to be received) 5. Norton Antivirus 1 year subscription worth 1399 from HP(Yet to be received) 6. Free 15 Inch Laptop backpack from HP. Spend wisely. Cheers, Rajesh Update - 20th Feb 2014: Beware of offers from HP. I am yet to receive the free gifts worth 4000. Its been 120 days now and they are still requesting another 30 days. First three commitments were not homered and I believe they are not going to keep-up the fourth as well. Don't say nobody warned you before the purchase. :)
These slatebooks are just like android based tablets with a keyboard. The worth of these slatebooks will increase if they have an internal 3G SIM slot.

Initially I wanted to buy a small laptop based on windows. Then I stumbled upon this Slatebook, a laptop/tablet, based on android. And boy, what a device! Pros: Good build quality, sleek design, detachable keyboard, so you get the twin benefit of laptop when you are working and tablet when you want to have fun. The screen, which is quite responsive, has a HD resolution with IPS display and i found it sufficiently bright contrary to some reviews I read online. The android platform makes the device quite versatile, you can access hundreds of high quality apps/games and mostly for free. Here, this device beats a normal laptop by far. Also, if you have an android phone, you can expect better sync and easy data sharing between your gadgets. The keyboard is not just sturdy but thoughtful too. They have put quite a few android-friendly keys, rather than just repeating a normal keyboard made for PC. It comes with 64 gb internal memory and you can expand it by using the given 2 SD slots with capacities: 32 gb and 64 gb. So in total you can have a space of 160 gb - quite enough for a normal usage. The battery backup is quite good, it lasts you around 8-9 hours. The smart thing they have done is, the device is programmed to consume the keyboard battery first, so when you detach the tablet, it still has full, unconsumed tablet battery intact. So quite portable if you compare it to a regular laptop. The Tegra processor is responsive too and supposedly good for gaming, though I haven't explored enough games. Cons: it's bit heavy as a laptop at 1.24 kg. But bearable as a tablet, at round .6 kg. No MS office suite, though they have provided KingSoft, which lets you save file in .docx format. Overall, if you have used windows comps all your life, it will take some getting used to, to figure your way around inside this android laptop. Overall: A value for money product ( Snapdeal offered me the best price). The white color looks quite classy, it has matte finish. Highly recommended if you are buying a laptop to do basic jobs, such as to use office suite, read pdfs, watch movies etc. Selected this product after going through numerous reviews and videos and I must say, I could not have made a better purchase.
