I had FAITH in flipkart.com not just confidence, but it is broken with this purchase. !! Delivery alone doesn't keep a customer satsified !! The Laptop delivered does seem to be a scrap piece. 1) A thick scratch on the lid. 2) Battery was damaged. 3) Aluminium near one of the USB port was pulled out. 4) Noisy hard disk. I can assume what HP is doing in this DIWALI and why they are giving additional 2 years warranty free of cost. These damages were there out of the sealed box. No response from flipkart after 4 days of compliant. Their response time was 72 hours. I will never purchase any costlier items from online ever again. I learned from this deal, thank you FLIPKART and my 1st star for teaching this valuable lesson. PRODUCT: 1) CORE i7 & WINDOWS 8 combined for awesome performance experience. 1 Star for this. 2) Good keyboard and touch pad. 3) Display is also excellent. Never mind the resolution, you won't feel bad. It is better than my SAMSUNG & ACER with same pixels. 4) FingerPrint reader is very useful. 5) Sound clarity of BEATS is astounding. 6) I get around 4:00 hours battery life with Lowest settings and 40-60% processor utilization. Wifi on & Music. But battery life will surely go down atleast 20-30% within 3 months of usage. Anyways you can expect around 3 hours if you are lucky to get a good & tested piece. Negatives: 1) High Noise from hard disk heads. I worried about its life. Still HP is ready to compensate with additional 2 years warranty... kind of a trick. 2) Cool sense is just not that cool. Laptop heats up as usual. 3) Not fully covered with metal. The LID cover is just plastic with Aluminium finish. Again a cheap strategy from HP. 4) Very Heavy for a laptop without CD drive and smaller in thickness. Reasons to BUY: 1) Good Looks. I'm a victim of GOOD LOOKs now. 2) Performance. It would have been the same across all models with similar spec. Reasons to STAY AWAY: 1) Poor HP quality. I had the same experience with LENOVO, SONY, COMPAQ & SAMSUNG, cheaper with worst build quality. But it is OK with cheaper models, not with High Ends. 2) There other brands you may try as well, DELL, ASUS, ACER & TOSHIBA. I'm not convinced to get a damaged/scrap piece after spending 70+K.
I bought this model on 18th November 2013 and right after a day a crackling little noise was coming from the base speaker,i then contacted the customer care;they advised me to uninstall certain drivers and also to install a new bios from their website,it just took 20 mins overall and then my laptop was dead. The customer care agent finding no other option to solve told me that she will fetch a service engineer asap. The same day(21.11.2013) at evening the service engineer came, he tried to reset the bios by removing the button sized battery, he then told me that it is not repairable and motherboard has to be changed,He then opened every part of the laptop right in front of my eyes very badly, like ripping my brand new heart out of me for writing down each of the contents serial number, leaving the plastic panel around the screen dented/folded, made my laptop now looks like a 50 yrs old hundred hand product.worst customer support+worst service experience. Now after a week I am getting call from HP itself asking me to take my money back as the price of the product has been increased by some amount and they(HP) are unable to replace it due to this;either i have to pay the extra amount for the recent market price of the laptop or get my money back. 27.11.2013:- the HP support called me up and in a very bad tone he told me to take money back and Hp cannot replace my laptop by the same model by any means even if i write to the CEO repeatedly. This statement is making a full sense for me to move to another brand and never go for any HP product in my life.I felt VERY VERY embarrassed & insulted with HP purchase and customer support.
