All right,I've been in the hunt for a good gaming laptop under 65k when after almost 1 year of desperate research I finally shortlisted these: Lenovo z51(ci7 model) hp envy 15 k102tx hp envy 15 k101tx hp envy 15 k201tx Now,the z51 comes with abetter cpu but the gpu (amd r9 m375 doesn't have loads of official benchies.Whereas I can second the fact that it is a capable performer and gives decent performance,it DOES NOT outperform the gtx 850m.The r9 m375 performs like a gt 750m. Which naturally makes gtx 850m the viable choice.Now coming to these mentioned hp models,the first two comes with a ci5 4210u(ULV chip,pretty frugal cpu)but its the 4gb Nvidia gtx 850m that steals the show. I purchased the hp envy 15 k102tx simply because it was priced at 63k on a website,while the k101tx was priced at 60k.With 3k more you"re getting a 1080p TOUCH DISPLAY as opposed to a 768p non touch one.The k201tx comes with a 5th gen ci5 5200u cpu and a non-touch 1080p display.(I'd have bought it if it were cheaper as I'd prefer a better cpu over a touch display) Now coming to the performance: 1.The BEATS speakers rocks!!!The sound has brilliant depth and clarity going by laptop standards in this range(Only real competitor is the JBL speakers of the z51) 2.Cpu is average.It performs like an dual core i5 should.Nothing too fancy.Decent enough for 768p/high or 1080p/medium gaming needs. 3.GTX 850m with 4gb of ddr3 vram is a potent performer at 768p.(I tested farcry 4,battlefield 4,farcry 3 and all ran at 40ish fps avg at 768p ultra) 5.Display is awesome.period. 6.There"s a backlit keyboard too.lol. 7.There"s been no heating issues.Coolers work like a charm provided you don't choke the vents,keeping the edges on a raised platform helps a lot. 8.Keystrokes are decent enough. 9.Looks and feels premium.Very premium. 10.There"s even a biometric scanner that you can use as a password mechanism(though i hardly use it),which is practically unheard of in a laptop in this price range. FINAL VERDICT:Must buy if you have a 60k budget that can be stretched a bit. If you're looking for 70k laptops you could try the ASUS ROG gl552. The Lenovo y50-70 is a decent choice DESPITE the screen issues(poor viewing angles and whatnot) if you have a 80k budget.
Although laptop performs well, it is highly volatile. A simple crash is dragged on and made into a mother board issue. During the 1.5 years I "owned" the laptop, it was at the service center for nearly 3 months. Neither the service center is responsive, nor is HP. BTW, I have 3 year onsite warranty + 1 year ADP. If you're buying the product, be prepared to face all this. I am sure there are better laptops and service providers that can be obtained at the same or even lesser amount.
Got today around eleven o clock. The laptop didnt charge once i switched on the laptop. Also it gave me error saying i need to change the adapter as it is not compatible. How a HP company can send a such a defective piece. I raised returned request 3 o clock today itself waiting for reply from Flipkart....I was big fan of Flipkart but disappointed with flipkart as i feel quality of services is coming down now a days.....
Probably the best for gaming at it's price range. Laptops having discrete graphic cards are terrible for gaming, thus to be able to game at full hd/decent mid-high level you need to get the best GPU i wont write much but the main reason you need to go for this laptop GTX 850 M Do not mistake this for GT models of nvdia! This GPU Is on another level all together, and can compete with the asus Rog series too, I can run most games at 1080P and get 40FPS Avg, tweaking a lillle gets me 45-50 FPS. PS this is for latest games with max settings, ex. gta V, cod advanced warfare, witcher 3, etc. Only Con would be the Processor. 1.6GHz is below average IMO But it gets the job done, it hangs if you have multiple apps running but it should be fine for most cases
Hello guys, I recently purchased this laptop from a retailer and I am amazed with its performance. I can play almost all the games on ultra settings, and they work very smoothly,another important thing , the graphic cards a beast, and at this price you won't get anything better, the 4gb gtx 850m GPU can bottleneck all the gaming titles , of the past and the present, and also you can play future games not on ultra but at least at 720p, I have tested the laptop for the following g games and found the results: Crysis 3: 1920*1080 all settings on ultra, 45.7 fps Assasins creed unity(most graphic consuming game acoord to me) :1920*1080 all settings on ultra, 34.6fps. GTA 5 : 1920*1080 ultra, 54fps Thief 1920*1080 ultra, 34fps All the other games like NFS rivals, NFS run , shift 2, run laglessly,at ultra resolution. So guys , that's it, for an entry level budget gamer, the beast has arrived!!!!
