HP Pavilion 15-n013TX (F2C10PA) Laptop (Core i5 4th Gen/4 GB/1 TB/Windows 8/2 GB)

I bought this laptop from local dealer (HP word ) in Ghaziabad at lower price Pros- 1. Nvidia Geforce gt 740M; this GFX is better than Radeon HD 8830m and 8750m 2. i5 4200 U (NOT i5 4200 M); this processor is futuristic (using AVX2 and FMA instruction set) and run on (15 watt) low power so battery back-up and life is become large, NOT worried about power plug point. The processor's integrated HD Graphics 4400 offers 20 Execution Units so many games and Multimedia application runs by this without firing NVidia graphics card (called optimus technology ) 3. Look; Great white look like Apple's Mac Book-pro (slim and exotic) 4. sound, dts sound+ is working charm (no need of external speakers) 5. Low operating temperature; using HP's coolsense technology to reduce the heat. Cons- 1. Processor; low clock frequency But new Haswell architecture and new instruction-sets smokes all current and up-coming apps,games and softwares EASILY. 2. Graphics card; the memory interference of this GFX is 64-BIT to reduce power consumption But NVidia's PhysX technology compensate this for (new) games. 3. Battery ; only 4 cells, so low back-up (I am , surfing net 3 hours than using Mat Lab 2 hours ,so after continuously using 5 hours battery level going on 7%, meanwhile downloading is going on in background ). But it is very large than other (2'nd and 3'rd Gen.) laptops, which is not more than 3 hours But using 4 cell reduces the weight of laptop 4. No backlite keyboard and ordinary webcam 5. Noise ; Fan noise is there (when playing games) But it is not much to irritate me Recommended hardware and software upgrades for this laptop [ if you have extra bucks in your pockets ] :--- 1. SSD; a 250 GB ssd is worth buying for this laptop to squeeze all its performance. also ssd increases more than 1 hours of battery back-up. 2. RAM; 2 (or 4 ) GB RAM is also needed to push the laptop's performance beyond the limits. 3. Windows 8.1; upgrade the windows 8 to windows blue(8.1) (this is free of cost, but full of bugs now, games not properly runs and many other issue so pleas wait for upgrade) I think after these upgrades this laptop become batter than MacBook-air and comparable to MacBook - pro. Conclusion; this machine is both for hard gamers and for programmers/engineering students Closest competitor (at the time of purchase)- 1. Samsung's NP370R5E-S05IN Laptop. But it is not available in markets (out stock) ,even in Nehru place (N. Delhi) 2. I got the best deal from FK for this laptop. I inquired the price for this laptop with all major retailers near my house and none of them had given this kind of offer. I also got the extended warranty and Norton internet package as gift with the HP Diwali utav offer - though the process was a bit tedious and I am yet to receive the gift. About the product: Looks classy and the premium finish. About the white colour: Have to be cleaned frequently as you can spot even a small dirt. But sometimes I think if I could have bought the black one (n012). Configuration: I wanted to buy the i5 (4th gen) and this had the best configuration for the price. 2 GB graphics card may be an overkill for a casual gamer. Though the performance is excellent for home user (Browsing, music, movies and casual games) I wish it had a SSD hard disk which could have increased the performance tremendously.
