Apple may be dealing with one of its biggest product leaks yet. Days after manufacturing partner Tata Electronics confirmed it was hit by a cyberattack, alleged images and videos showing the iPhone 18 Pro during internal drop testing have surfaced online.
Tipsters Ice Universe, Evan Blass (EVleaks), Majin Bu, among others, have shared screenshots and videos that appear to show Apple’s next flagship undergoing durability tests. Ice Universe described it as “the biggest leak in Apple’s history,” while sharing a video of the alleged iPhone 18 Pro Max undergoing a drop test.
The leak comes amid reports that confidential Apple documents stolen from Tata Electronics have been circulating on the dark web. Apple hasn’t commented on the authenticity of the leaked media, and the images should be treated with caution.
iPhone 18 Pro leaks via Tata data theft
According to a Reuters report, hackers stole more than 200,000 files during the Tata Electronics data breach, including confidential documents related to Apple products. The leaked material reportedly includes supplier information, component lists, engineering documents, emails and images of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max during internal testing. Reuters says several files contain details of hundreds of components, including chips on the main logic board, battery parts and camera modules. The documents reportedly carry Apple’s confidential markings and internal codenames for the upcoming phones.
Tata Electronics assembles iPhones in India and has become an important manufacturing partner as Apple continues to look beyond China. Following the cyberattack, Tata said it had restricted access to affected systems and appointed external cybersecurity experts to conduct a forensic investigation. Reuters also reports that Apple is working with Tata to strengthen security measures going forward.
iPhone 18 Pro design leaked
The leaked videos show a familiar design that resembles the current iPhone 17 Pro. Ice Universe says the phone appears durable but remains “surprisingly thick” and heavy, and we agree it looks like that. However, the flat-sided frame, centred USB-C port and triple rear camera layout on the plateau all remain intact, suggesting Apple isn’t making major cosmetic changes this year.

The biggest visible difference appears to be the rear camera module. The camera plateau looks slightly taller and the individual camera rings seem thicker than before, probably hinting at upgraded camera hardware. The images also show what appears to be a silver/grey finish. We’re not sure if it’s the video quality, but the silver looks more matte, similar to the titanium finish from the iPhone 16 Pro series, rather than the newer iPhone 17 Pro colour option. There is a possibility that Apple has gone back to titanium after using aluminium for the iPhone 17 Pro frame. The dual colour tone seen on the rear of the iPhone 17 Pro also seems to have been done away with for the 18 Pro, as we see a monotone throughout the rear of the phone, which looks nice.
One big reveal is rumoured burgundy/cherry colour option. We found a screengrab shared by Majin showing the new colour option, which could be the anchor colour for the iPhone 18 Pro series later this year.
If these images are genuine, we shouldn’t be expecting a major redesign with the iPhone 18 Pro models. The upgrades may be slightly cosmetic and incremental, though going back to titanium would be a slightly bigger change. Those hoping for a bold new design may be slightly disappointed, but users prioritising camera upgrades and durability may find the iPhone 18 Pro compelling. The launch is just over two months away, but buyers should be prepared for an upgraded price tag due to the ongoing memory crisis.iPhone 18 pro pic.twitter.com/A2Eldt0MQ8
