Apple iPhone 17 series prices in India will reportedly increase from August; supply crunch also tipped

Highlights

The kidney jokes may just start getting worse. A new tip has indicated Apple may be preparing to raise iPhone 17 prices in India, finally succumbing to the memory cost crisis that has caused manufacturers to raise prices on an average of 15 percent (per Counterpoint) across segments over the last few months. The company has so far avoided increasing iPhone prices mid-cycle, even as it recently revised prices of Macs, iPads and other hardware. If the latest claim is true, the iPhone 17 lineup could become Apple’s first recent iPhone family in India to receive a mid-cycle price hike.

The report also comes as retailers are reportedly seeing stronger demand for the iPhone 17 series, with some variants becoming harder to find across offline stores and e-commerce platforms.

Expected iPhone 17 price changes in India

According to tipster Abhishek Yadav, Apple has informed iPlanet dealers about an upcoming price revision for the iPhone 17 series in India. The leak suggests the base iPhone 17 with 256GB storage could become Rs 12,000 more expensive, taking its price from Rs 82,900 to Rs 94,990.
