[Exclusive] Apple Watch Pro CAD renders show off new design, larger display ahead of launch
The Apple Watch Pro's price is expected to be announced on September 7th during the Apple event. Here's a look at its design through CAD-based renders.
Update (August 2025): Apple introduced the Apple Watch Pro in September 2022, but with a different nomenclature. The wearable was named Apple Watch Ultra, and it came with many of the design details revealed in this exclusive leak. The Watch Ultra features a large 49mm dial, protrusion on the right spine, speaker grille on the left spine, and a new strap design. The smartwatch is priced in India at Rs 89,900.

Apple’s hardware event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 7th where the company will be announcing the iPhone 14 series, new iPad models, AirPods Pro 2, and possibly even a Mac Pro. Alongside these, the Apple Watch Series 8 is also expected. More importantly, we may see the introduction of a new product, called the Apple Watch Pro. We’ve come across a few reports about the Apple Watch Pro, most recently from well-known Apple reporter Mark Gurman. The CAD renders come courtesy of industry sources and reveal the Apple Watch Pro with a large display, which is in line with recent leaks. It will feature the biggest display yet on an Apple Watch. We are told that the Apple Watch Pro will come in a 49mm size, which means it will be fairly chunky and not for everyone, as Gurman rightly pointed out.
Apple Watch Pro design
Starting off with the front, the Apple Watch Pro CAD renders show a large display with very slim bezels. A noticeable redesign can be seen on the right side of the frame that now sees a protrusion to house the Digital Crown, microphone, and the multitasking button. It is unclear whether this form factor will be coming to the regular Series 8 models as well. Since it is the first-ever Pro model for the Apple Watch, we might see some exclusive straps as well.
The Apple Watch Pro appears to have a button on the left side of the frame along with a speaker vent. The purpose of this extra button is unclear at the moment. That’s pretty much it about the Apple Watch Pro design. We’re curious to see what new the Apple Watch Pro has to offer.
Reports suggest the larger display on the Apple Watch Pro will be able to show more fitness and health-tracking statistics. We might also see new watch faces that make use of the extra screen real estate. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the Apple Watch Pro will come with a larger battery, a low-power mode, and a rugged titanium casing. The Apple Watch Pro may not appeal to regular users owing to its size and rugged design.
With Apple introducing a Pro version of its smartwatch, premium features in the future could be reserved for this specific model similar to what Apple has done with the iPhone Pro models.
The Apple Watch Pro will be the costliest smartwatch from the company yet, with a price tag anywhere between $900 to $1000 (approx Rs 72,000 to Rs 80,000).
