Google and Samsung announce smart glasses powered by Gemini
Google and Samsung have partnered to introduce new intelligent eyewear. There are two different styles designed in collaboration with South Korean eyewear brand Gentle Monster and American brand Warby Parker. The new smart glasses from Google and Samsung are powered by AI with Gemini at its core to help users navigate, ask about the surroundings, get real-time translations, and more. Similar to Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses, the new smart glasses also feature cameras and a microphone to record videos and take pictures.

The smart glasses come in two designs—a stylish pair of sunnies from Gentle Monster and a more classic pair of eyeglasses from Warby Parker. Real-time translation is a key feature that can be quite helpful when you’re travelling to different countries. With the smart glasses, you can translate audio in real-time while talking to someone, and even translate written text. More features include using Geminig to order food for you or book a cab, and even learn a new language.
There’s quite a lot that you can do with this intelligent eyewear, which has been designed to work as a companion to your smartphone, and not necessarily replace it. We’ve already seen Meta’s Ray-Ban glasses become a popular pick, especially among creators. With Google and Samsung joining the competition and with more designs for users to choose from, the latest smart glasses will most likely become a hit.
